Publications

Between 2018 and 2026, 35 peer-reviewed English-language papers (23 as first author) in 19 journals: 21 case reports, 9 original articles and 5 systematic reviews or meta-analyses. The full list can be verified in PubMed.

The author guidelines comparison and the list of journals that accept case reports on this site are built on the experience of submitting to those 19 journals and being accepted and rejected by them, repeatedly. Which journals have quietly stopped taking case reports, and which conditions lead to a desk rejection, are often not obvious from the guidelines themselves; filling that gap is what this site is for.

Why this site exists

When deciding where to submit, I repeatedly wanted to “glance down the journals in this field in order of Impact Factor”. But Journal Citation Reports cannot be opened without an institutional subscription, and the free listing sites were either no longer updated or showed their tables as images that could not be searched. In Japanese, there was almost nothing organised by specialty.

The site began as a list I made for myself and then published. It is not meant to be an exhaustive database for bibliometricians; it aims to be the first list a clinician opens when thinking about where to submit.

How the data is compiled

The values here are not copied mechanically from elsewhere. This is how the work is actually done.

Year labels are checked one by one

The “year” of an Impact Factor means different things on different sites. JCR releases the previous year's figures every June, so the edition released in June 2026 is “JCR 2025”. Some aggregator sites label by release year instead, so a value labelled “2025 IF” may actually be JCR 2024. This site checks the difference for every entry and standardises on JCR 2025; journals whose year could not be confirmed carry an explicit year label.

Every link has been opened

The official site URL of each of the 903 journals has been checked individually; links that led to aggregators or unrelated pages were removed.

Author guidelines are read on the publisher's page

For the 105 journals in the guidelines comparison, the publisher's Guide for Authors was read one journal at a time and summarised: article types, word limit for original articles, abstract length, number of figures and tables, number of references, and whether case reports are accepted. For case reports, the conditions are recorded as well as the yes/no — for example “the article type exists, but cases already reported in the field are not accepted”, the kind of condition that changes the decision before you submit.

What is not here

Errors

The site may contain transcription errors or values that lag behind a publisher's update. Please report anything you notice through the contact form. Including the source URL speeds up verification; confirmed errors are corrected.

For important decisions such as where to submit, always confirm the current value on the publisher's official page or in JCR itself. The author accepts no liability for losses arising from the use of information on this site.

Update policy

JCR is updated every June, and the values for all journals on this site are updated once a year to match. Author guidelines are corrected as changes on the publisher side come to notice (last updated September 2026).

This site carries advertising. The author does not select the advertisements, and rankings and journal assessments are entirely unrelated to advertising.
